About Smart Investment Club


Smart Investment Club was formed by a group of Twenty (20) students pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management (BESBM) at Makerere University Business School Nakawa Kampala. The Constitution that brought Smart Investment Club into existence was adopted on the 22nd day of APRIL 2013 and it was duly and officially registered by UGANDA REGISTRAR OF DOCUMENT on the 30th day of APRIL 2013, REGISTERD AS NUMBER 5272 of 2013, under the Lawyer from AUTHER MWEBESA ADVOCATE.

OUR PURPOSE

We exist to serve through transforming lives and livelihoods of our people socially, economically and technologically by availing them modern financial services that maximize and capitalize their opportunities.

To be the leading Microfinance bank of socio-economic development in the East African region providing quality microfinance services to our Clients with a view to transform the rural areas, reduce poverty, enable entrepreneurship development among the populace and ensure good return for investors.

Mission and Goals
We offer smart and convenient customer tailored financial services that socially and economically empower our clients and other stakeholders.
MEF Limited exists to empower people economically while ensuring that those who live in poverty, particularly vulnerable women and children, are served in body, mind, and spirit. The springboard of MEF is compassionate micro-finance lending that includes a range of support services for its members through multiple local programs in strategic rural and urban areas of Uganda, and will eventually spread to other countries in Africa. By 2025, MEF Limited expects to empower a bigger population of over TEN million Ugandans to move out of extreme poverty through strategic goals:
a) Microfinance. This includes urban and rural lending, community owned banking, and asset development strategies.
b) Community Investment. This comprises consumer-owned businesses, social businesses, and social investment.
c) Entrepreneurial of Entrepreneurship. This involves small-business development, hands-on learning, technical know-how culminating in self-employment, and life skills development.
d) Dynamic social network. This involves sharing resources, local and global interdependence, and mobilization of social networks.
As a Microfinance Institution, MEF intends to increase opportunities for the poor to access financial services by providing financial services to low income entrepreneurs, mobilizing deposits from members and non-members and then loaning a certain percentage of these funds to urban and rural producers, traders and small scale farmers.
